Dr. Jana Price-Sharps is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience in higher education. Her specialty is first responder trauma, and she has worked with various departments in California, Italian undercover operatives, and South African police detectives. In her private practice, she provides treatment for law enforcement, fire suppression, emergency medical personnel, and combat veterans. Dr. Price-Sharps has taught a range of courses on topics such as police psychology, trauma, family therapy, and psychopathology, and has experience teaching hostage negotiation and peer support programs for law enforcement. She is also the President and Clinical Director of SERI, a non-profit that provides clinical training to Master’s and Doctoral interns interested in working with forensic populations. Dr. Price-Sharps' research focuses on police officer stress, PTSD, and trauma. SERI provides mental health services to incarcerated populations in juvenile halls and jails.
